Supervision of arrested care
All individuals in custody are at all times entitled to:
- adequate shelter and safe surroundings
- sufficient clean drinking water
- sufficient food
- access to sanitation
- access to legal counseling
- access to medical care
- protection from physical and mental abuse
The Commission that supervises the arrested care – CTA CW – ensures that the arrested is treated right.
Anyone who feels that he is not (or has not been) treated properly during the arrest, transport or confinement can file a complaint.
To this end, the CTA CW has established a complaints procedure. The commission will investigate the complaint and if it has been found justified, the Minister of Justice will be advised on measures to prevent reoccurrence.
